Guests knock twice on a pair of painted palace doors set in a carved sandstone jharokha. The red lac seal pressed with the couple's initials cracks, the silk cord falls away, and the heavy doors swing inward on a courtyard glowing at dusk as the guest walks through into the invitation. Each celebration then hangs beneath its own lantern that lights as it comes into view, framed in marble, pietra dura inlay and antique gold. Made for weddings that span many days.
