A pierced brass lantern is lit, and its stars spill across the riad walls.

Night in a Marrakech riad. Guests stand before a horseshoe arch framed in hand-cut zellige, the medina rooftops and a crescent beyond, while an unlit brass lantern hangs on its chain. One tap lifts the latch, the little door swings open, a flame catches, and the lantern's pierced stars are thrown across the tadelakt walls as the room fills with saffron light. Then the arch falls away and the celebration unfolds in arched niches, glazed-tile countdown, a riad-door RSVP studded with brass, and a lantern guests can turn to recolour the light.
