The Gazette

A special-edition front page on a walnut desk; the band tears, the page spins in and the headline is your names.

Hot off the press: a folded broadsheet lies on a lamplit walnut desk beside a coffee cup, a red grease pencil and loose lead type, wrapped in a red delivery band. One tap tears the band, a red EXTRA! stamp comes down hard, the lower half unfolds and the whole page spins in like a 1930s newsreel until your names are the headline. Inside: a front page with a halftone engraving of the ceremony, the announcement set in two justified columns with a drop cap, society notes for both families, a clipped almanac countdown, a coupon guests cut out for one dance with the newlyweds, classified-ad event listings and a reply coupon that gets stamped RECEIVED.
