Emerald Gatsby

A brass floor dial, a scissor gate and a lift lined in emerald lacquer.

Guests press a brass call button in a black-lacquer lobby: the floor dial sweeps down to the lobby, a bell rings, the latch lifts and the gilded scissor gate concertinas open onto an emerald lift car lit like a 1920s ballroom. Every celebration is a floor on the directory board, the countdown runs on miniature lift dials, and the evening closes under searchlights over a jazz-age skyline.
