Carrara · marble-split opening

Carrara

A polished marble tablet that breaks along a seam of molten gold.

A tablet of white Carrara marble, engraved with the couple's initials, hangs on an ivory wall. One tap and molten gold runs down a hairline crack, light pours through, and the slab splits in two, its glowing edges parting to reveal the names inlaid in gold leaf. The rest of the invitation is architectural and calm: honed stone, a kintsugi seam that traces itself down the page, a broken tile guests mend with gold to reveal the date, and an RSVP set like a gallery placard.
